Abhilashi Ayurvedic College & Research Institute

Ayurveda is an Indian system of medicine. When translated from Sanskrit, Ayurveda means ‘the science of life’. It provides us the knowledge of how to prevent disease and to eliminate the root cause if it does occur. Abhilashi Ayurvedic College and Research Institute (A Department of Abhilashi University) is situated at such a place, the surrounding of which is so picturesque that makes it more suitable for teaching and training of Ayurvedic Education and Research. The surrounding flora is rich in important medicinal plants. Abhilashi Ayurvedic College and Research Institute is running graduation level programme, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), which is recognized by National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), Government of India. New Delhi. It is also running Diploma in Pharmacy (Ayurveda) course. Abhilashi Ayurvedic College and Research Institute has its own multi-specialty 100 bedded hospital, well-furnished pharmacy and a herbal garden of 5000m2 area with more than two hundred species of medicinal plants. In addition to Central Library, College has its own working library with more than 10,000 books and 15 journals related to Ayurveda.

The aims and objectives:

  1. To promote the growth and development of Ayurveda.
  2. To produce graduates who could efficiently serve in state Ayurvedic Health Services and also as Ayurvedic Practitioners.
  3. To provide health care to patients by specialists of various fields of Ayurveda.
  4. To co-ordinate with other State and National Health Services for providing complete health care.
  5. To conduct “re-orientation” training programmes for Ayurvedic Physicians.
  6. Programme and activities
    • Blood Donation Camps.
    • Conferences, Seminars and workshops on various health related issues.
    • Swachhta Abhiyaan.

Courses

BAMS(Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery)

BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is an undergraduate degree programme meant to familiarize students with Ayurvedic concept and enable them to apply on patient treatment. Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems, dating back to the Vedic period. Ayurveda is a holistic science and a blissful way of living which includes Panchkarma ( detoxification procedures), palliative therapies, yoga, naturopathy and satvic diet for maintaining the optimum health and curing the diseases.

Duration:  Five and half years including Compulsory Rotatory internship of one year.

Eligibility & Admission Criteria: Admission in BAMS Course will be done on the basis of merit in NEET and qualifying examination with minimum 50% in 10+2 (Medical) with valid NEET score.
