Prof. D. K. Mishra completed BAMS from Sampoornanad Sanskrit University, Varanasi a and M.D. Kayachikitsa from Institute of Post Graduate Training & Research in Ayurveda, Shyamadas Vidyapeeth, Kolkata. Prof. Mishra has more than 26 years of Teaching and administrative experience. He served as Professor and Vice Principal SGM Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Nandganj, Sahari Ghazipur, U.P.; Principal SUDC Hoshiarpur; Principal JIAR Jammu; Professor and Vice-Principal at Guru Nanak Ayurvedic College, Gopalpur, Ludhiana, Punjab.
Ayurveda is a system of medicine, when translated from Sanskrit, Ayurveda means 'The Science of Life'. It provides us the knowledge of how to prevent disease and to eliminate the root cause if it does occur. Abhilashi Ayurvedic College and Research Institute (A Department of Abhilashi University) is situated at such a place, the surrounding of which is so picturesque that makes it more suitable for teaching and training of Ayurvedic Education and Research. The surrounding flora is rich in important medicinal plants. Abhilashi Ayurvedic College and Research Institute is running graduation level programme, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), which is recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), Government of India, New Delhi. It is also running Diploma in Pharmacy (Ayurveda) course. Abhilashi Ayurvedic College and Research Institute has its own multi-specialty 60 bedded hospital, well-furnished pharmacy and a herbal garden of 5000m2 areas with more than two hundred species of medicinal plants. In addition to Central Library, College has its own working library with more than 10,000 books and 15 journals related to Ayurveda.
The Aims and Objectives:
- To promote the growth and development of Ayurveda.
- To produce graduates who can efficiently serve in Ayurvedic Health Services and also as Ayurvedic Practitioners.
- To provide health care to patients by specialists of various fields of Ayurveda.
- To co-ordinate with other State and National Health Services for providing complete health care.
- To conduct “re-orientation” training programmers for Ayurvedic Physicians.
